On Friday, July 17, the MontroseAccess Charity Golf Day kicked off at the Indooroopilly Golf Club with 82 people turning up to raise much needed awareness for MontroseAccess, and support the not-for-profit organisation that provides assistance to countless young Queenslanders with physical disabilities.
Teams of four players from across BTP’s three precincts attended on the 18 hole Captain’s course, where the retired professional Golfer, Charlie Earp started the groups off with a golf clinic, providing teams with handy hints.
Despite the wind and chill, competition got fierce as teams raced through the course, with the coveted hole-in-one-prize being a BMW F30 320i Sedan valued at $69 000. In the end, Arthur J. Gallagher Insurance Brokers won after a brilliant day of sportsmanship and fun.
The event helped raise $10 000 for BTP Westlink Green occupant, MontroseAccess, with help from major sponsors, BTP Graystone. MontroseAccess also raised an extra $500 from a silent auction, which was a night’s accommodation in a deluxe village and round of golf at Kangaroo Valley Golf and Country Resort, NSW. These funds will go towards helping physically disabled children, adolescents and their families.
