BTP Executive Boardroom Luncheons

The second BTP Executive Luncheon, hosted by Griffith University and Graystone, was held on the 16th February. Special guest Associate Professor Cheryl Desha led a discussion on driving leaner business growth through combining data analytics with human behaviour. Luncheon numbers were limited to encourage a lively discussion and guests explored the merits of harnessing the power of data to improve organisational efficiency and increase asset performance. Hako Sushi Grand Opening 

The Brisbane Technology Park community was a buzz of excitement when HAKO Sushi opened its doors for the first time on the 22nd February. Located in the recently refurbished office building at 35 Miles Platting Road, the opening specials drew a big crowd, with foodies from across the precinct lining up to get the first taste of the Japanese offerings. The restaurant is a welcome addition to the park, especially those seeking an afternoon snack or cold beer with HAKO trading with liquor licence until 5pm. Menu favourites include; bento boxes, donburi, curries, and sushi – with the option to dine in or take away.

BTP Networking Series

On Thursday 1st February, business leaders from the Brisbane and Ipswich regions were brought together at the inaugural event in the BTP Networking Series. The series was designed to address the gap in facilitated networking events in Brisbane’s western growth corridor. In attendance were people from across all sectors of business, finance, healthcare, and property.

The keynote speaker, Mr Kevin Lovewell, is a business leader in the field of accountancy and business valuation, and most recently has been involved in the delivery of the entrepreneurship program at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Kevin presented an informative address on the importance of business planning to the success and sustainability of SME’s.
